(November 22, 2014)- The season of good will is fast approaching and Australia’s leading eWaste disposal company, Buyequip, has developed a scheme to give back to society in the spirit of the Christmas.
Under the scheme, the company will donate a piece of IT equipment to charitable organizations for every 60 items they receive throughout the months of December and January. Buyequip receive hundreds of items weekly and is therefore expecting to give away dozens of pieces of IT equipment when the promotion concludes.
The company wants to engage the participation of the public in their initiative and are, therefore, encouraging people to recommend charities or individuals that could benefit from the items. The IT equipment will be presented at the end of January during a presentation ceremony, which will be attended by clients as well as the charities receiving the donations.
ICT Account Manager at Buyequip, Anna Weal, is excited about the initiative. She said, “The festive season is a time to give back and it is important that corporations remember this. Computers for learning is a great opportunity for Buyequip to offer practical assistance to those in local communities, and extend the partnerships that we already have with social enterprises such as Youth Family Services, trading as Substation 33.”
Since 1998, Buyequip has been safely recycling unwanted IT equipment from schools and corporations nationwide. Institutions and companies who engage their services benefit in a number of ways. Buyequip provides financial rebates for all old equipment and ensures sensitive data is erased permanently with their rigorous data destruction process. In addition, all equipment is disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
